Buffalo, NY 14222
H.O.C.A. located at 1000 Delaware Avenue is a beautiful City of Buffalo landmark erected during the period 1904 - 1907. Designed by the Boston architect, George E. Newton, and built by Charles Bericks and Sons and Joseph and Sons, the lovely English Country Gothic structure commands a great presence on the corner of West Utica Street and Delaware Avenue. The building underwent extensive restoration after a fire in 2002. Buffalonians are familiar with the address and the facilities, as the site is used annually for the Greek Cultural Festival in early June. The Festival is the unofficial kick-off for Buffalo’s summer season.
The facility has many spaces available for events. It is ideal for weddings, parties and corporate functions - the space is flexible and can accommodate larger or smaller groups. The parlour, along with the enclosed inner courtyard, is a gorgeous place to hold a dinner, meeting or smaller wedding. The classic architecture and old-world charm of these areas, perfect for 75 sitting guests or 125 reception guests, evokes memories of several historic Buffalo mansions. The Taverna can accommodate 125 for dinner and entertainment. The Demakos Center seats as many as 400 and can be set up for meetings, presentations and receptions. School classrooms are available for rental, and along with the Demakos Center, this portion of the facility is optimal for teaching seminars and smaller conferences.
